 Scholarships for Incoming International Students

The top two scholarships below are new: one full-scholarship and 5 full tuition scholarships. The other scholarships have been in existence for several years and there is no limit to the number of students who may be awarded the Washington, Jefferson, Independence, or Founders Scholarship.

Two types of financial assistance are available for incoming international students:  scholarships based on academic achievement and need-based scholarships.

TBD Scholarship for First-Year Students (merit, need-based) (one awarded per year)

  • Full scholarship covering tuition, room, meal plan. Scholarship covers 4 years full-time enrollment (maximum) for entering first year students. Student must maintain a college GPA of 3.1 and maintain full time enrollment status.
  • Preference given to candidates with high school average GPA of 3.7 (on scale of 4.0), class rank top 10%
  • SAT or ACT required (preferred scores: SAT 1800 or ACT 27)
  • Priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15. Notification by April 1.
  • Deadline for the spring semester is November 1. Notification by December 1
  • Books, travel and personal expenses are not included.

 

     TBD Full tuition scholarship for First-Year Students(merit, need-based) (five awarded       per year)

  • Full tuition ($42,656 2015-16 academic year). Scholarship covers 4 years (maximum) full-time enrollment for entering first year students. Student must maintain a college GPA of 3.1 and maintain full-time enrollment status.
  • Preference  given to average GPA of 3.5 (on scale of 4.0)
  • SAT or ACT scores are NOT required
  • Priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15. Notification by April 1.
  • Deadline for the spring semester is November 1. Notification by December 1
  • Housing, meal plan, books, travel and personal expenses are not included.

 

Washington Scholarship for first year and transfer students

  • Awards range from $24,000 to $30,000 per academic year. Scholarship covers 4 academic year maximum for entering first year students (will be adjusted for transfer students based on credits transferred). Student must maintain a college GPA of 3.1 and maintain full time enrollment status.
  • Preference given to average high school or college GPA of 3.5 (on scale of 4.0)
  • SAT or ACT scores are NOT required
  • Priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15. Notification by April 1.
  • Deadline for the spring semester is November 1. Notification by December 1
  • Expenses beyond the scholarship (additional tuition, meal plan, books, travel and personal expenses are not covered.

 

Jefferson Scholarship for first year and transfer students

  • $19,000 per academic year. Scholarship covers 4 academic years (maximum) for entering first year students (will be adjusted for transfer students based on credits transferred.) Student must maintain a college GPA of 3.0 and maintain full time enrollment status.
  • Preference given to average high school or college GPA of 3.3 (on scale of 4.0)
  • SAT or ACT scores are NOT required
  • Priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15. Notification by April 1.
  • Deadline for the spring semester is November 1. Notification by December 1
  • Expenses beyond the scholarship (additional tuition, meal plan, books, travel and personal expenses) are not included.

 

Independence Scholarship for first year and transfer students

  • $15,000 per academic year. Scholarship covers 4 academic year (maximum) for entering first year students (will be adjusted for transfer students based on credits transferred.) Student must maintain college GPA of 2.7 and maintain full time enrollment status.
  • Preference  given to average high school GPA of 3.0 (on scale of 4.0)
  • SAT or ACT scores are NOT required
  • Priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15. Notification by April 1.
  • Deadline for the spring semester is November 1. Notification by December 1
  • Expenses beyond the scholarship (additional tuition, meal plan, books, health insurance, travel and personal expenses) are not included

 

Founders Scholarship for first year and transfer students

  • $8,000 per academic year. Scholarship covers 4 academic year maximum for entering first year students (will be adjusted for transfer students based on credits transferred. college GPA of 2.7 and maintain full time enrollment status.
  • Preference  given to average high school GPA of 2.7 (on scale of 4.0)
  • SAT or ACT scores are NOT required
  • Student may apply by regular admission deadline of March 1 (November 1 for Spring entry). Notification by April 1 (Notification by December 1 for Spring).
  • Expenses beyond the scholarship (additional tuition, meal plan, books, travel, health insurance, and personal expenses) are not included.
